About Catherine Best
Catherine Best worked as a research lawyer for almost 30 years. In that role, she researched complex legal issues, prepared opinions for clients, and developed submissions for court and other types of proceedings. Catherine retired from the practice of law in September 2015.
Catherine served for eight years on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII), and was the first full-time Director of Legal Research and Writing at the UBC Faculty of Law. She is one of eight legal researchers featured in the book Law of the Super Searchers: The Online Secrets of Top Legal Researchers.
